The painted pottery made by the ancient ancestors is made of high-quality clay alluvial by the river, pure and free of impurities, moist as a pink cake; and mud has flexibility. Fired pottery has a "glue" texture when viewed with the naked eye.
Due to the poor technical conditions of firing at that time, the firing temperature was relatively low, and the fired pottery had strong water absorption. Tapping the body with your hand will make a low mute sound; Feeling lighter in weight when you use your hand to pottery; There should be no heavy pressure feeling; Wet the pottery with water, you can smell a faint smell of earthy meat; If you look carefully, there will be tiny needle holes on the surface of the pottery.
Ancient pottery, most of which are the living utensils of the ancestors, before being buried in the ground, the body of the vessel has traces of collision, long-term use of the body has natural wear phenomenon, and there is contact with air, water, grease and other things produced by the "shell color paste". Painted pottery has been buried in the ground for thousands of years, and after long-term accumulation, the surface of the pottery is full of "scale". Real "scale" can not be washed off with water, brush "scale" with dilute hydrochloric acid, you will see "scale" emitting white smoke and foaming.

With the advancement of technology and the gradual enhancement of human aesthetic awareness, Neolithic people gradually began to deliberately decorate pottery, so there was a work of art such as faience. Painting is a crucial part of making faience.
